Most wearable beauty trends for Spring/Summer 2016

Summer is just around the corner – it is about time for us to have a look at the beauty trends of the season. Spring is the perfect time to try something new or wear something different.

With plenty of inspirations and many fantastic looks; these are my favourites for Spring/Summer.

Classic Red

As always – we have a red lip trend. As long as you find a shade that suits you, this looks fabulous day or night. The designers opted for precision and lips were applied carefully. To make the lipstick last for longer apply lipstick with a lip brush and use a matte or satin finish. Pair your red lips with bare skin (only a bit of concealer where needed) and you have a fresh take on this classic look.

 Go For Bronze

The all-time favorite summer look – naturally tanned sheen on skin. Bring out your bronzer and get to work. Just do not over do it. It will still have to match your neck- and body skin tones!

Team with a golden-bronze shadow buffed into the creases of the eyes and a brighter gold shadow for the lids and around the tear ducts and along lower lashes. Finish off the look with plenty of black mascara.

 Shades of Blue

Blue is the main colour trend this season. Perhaps not the first colour that comes to mind when thinking eye makeup. Many women are afraid to use the blue palette and been told ‘be safe – stay away from blue’. However it does not need to be something out of the eighties, shades of blue can look really refreshing and very very pretty.

Choose from grey-blues, cobalt, green-blues, navy, turquoise or aquamarine…you name it. I love the look from Diane von Furstenberg where blue is paired up with green.

For a wearable look, choose something not too overwhelming.

Pink, peach and orange

These colours are remarkably wearable for your eyes. It is complimentary to all eye colours and the darker your skin tone the stronger you can go with your shade. Wear it with a thin eyeliner and plenty of lashes.

Lash out

The trend is chunky spider lashes with a nod to 60s ‘Twiggy lashes’.  The models at Marni looked great, take inspiration from this and create your own downgraded version. Stay on this trend simply by adding a couple of extra layers of mascara, keep skin fresh, brows groomed and pair with matte mauve lipstick.

Braids & Ponies

What can be easier than a braid? Try a stronger, less girly, plait or twist. First collect hair in a tight low ponytail, dampen hair and make a firm braid.

Hair Accessories

Headbands, ribbons, flower clips and tiaras… there are plenty to choose from and can be worn both day and night.
